The RAC Approved Garage network exists for one reason: to give UK motorists a reliable way to find garages they can genuinely trust. Not every garage can use the RAC name — only those who pass a rigorous independent inspection and commit to the RAC's Code of Conduct and Customer Charter.
Garages are assessed on technical expertise, equipment quality, staff qualifications, pricing transparency and customer service. Those who meet the standard earn the right to display the badge. Crucially, they're re-inspected every single year — approval is never automatic.
