A Failing Wet Belt
Can Cost You Thousands

The Ford 1.0 EcoBoost wet belt runs in oil — as it degrades it sheds debris that blocks the oil strainer, starves the engine of lubrication, and causes catastrophic failure. By the time the warning light comes on, damage may already be done.

EcoBoost wet belt replacements completed This is one of our most common jobs — not a specialist call-out. Dedicated tooling, trained technicians, and the same procedure every time.

If you notice any of these, don't wait — call us on 01438 232556.

🔴
Oil Warning Light
A blocked oil strainer from wet belt debris is the most common cause. Act immediately.
🔊
Unusual Engine Noises
Ticking, rattling or whining can indicate belt wear or oil starvation.
Misfires or Rough Running
A worn belt disrupts engine timing and causes inconsistent performance.
🔧
Check Engine Light
Can signal a range of EcoBoost timing issues — book a diagnostic today.
📍
Over 80,000 Miles or 8+ Years Old
Don't wait for symptoms — proactive replacement is always cheaper than repair.

Everything Included in
Your £1,100 Package

Unlike a quick belt swap, our service addresses every part of the wet belt system — the same way Ford would, using correct tooling and Ford-specified components throughout.

⚙️
Complete Belt Replacement
Both the timing belt and oil pump drive belt replaced with OEM or OEM-equivalent parts. We never cut corners on component quality.
💧
Water Pump Replacement
Included as standard. It's driven by the same belt system — skipping it now means an unnecessary return visit later.
🔩
All Critical Seals & Components
Tensioner, cam cover seal, crankshaft pulley seal and pulley bolt all replaced — these are subject to the same wear as the belt.
🧹
Oil Strainer Clean
We clean the oil pick-up strainer to remove belt debris. Skipping this step is why many cheaper replacements fail within a year.
🛢️
Ford-Spec Oil & Filter
Only Ford-recommended 5W20 EcoBoost oil used. The wrong oil accelerates belt degradation — a more common mistake than it should be.
🔍
Full Engine Health Check
While your engine is open we inspect for additional wear, leaks or issues — so you leave with confidence, not just a new belt.

Everything You Need
to Know

The questions Ford owners ask us most often. Can't find what you need? Call 01438 232556 and we'll give you a straight answer.

Unlike a traditional rubber timing belt that runs dry, a wet belt runs inside the engine's oil system. Ford uses this in the 1.0 EcoBoost to save space. It degrades differently to a dry belt and must be replaced on schedule — not when symptoms appear.
Common signs include an oil warning light, unusual engine noises, misfires, or a check engine light. But if your car is over 8 years old or has covered more than 80,000 miles — don't wait for symptoms. Damage can be done before any warning light appears.
This job takes 8 hours and requires specialist tools, multiple components, and premium Ford-spec oil. Our £1,100 includes every part that should be replaced — seals, tensioner, water pump, oil, coolant and labour. If you see lower prices elsewhere, ask exactly what they include. Cheaper jobs that skip key components are the most common reason customers come to us for a redo.
Around 8 hours of labour under normal conditions — complications like seized bolts can push that further. We also keep the car overnight so the sealant cures properly before the engine is started. You drop off, collect the following day, knowing it's been done right rather than rushed.
Any Ford fitted with the 1.0L EcoBoost engine — including the Fiesta (2012+), Focus, EcoSport, Puma, and B-Max. Not sure if your car is affected? Call us with the registration and we'll check.
A failing wet belt sheds debris into the oil, blocking the oil strainer and starving the engine of lubrication. This leads to oil pump failure, timing issues, or complete engine seizure — repair or replacement costs typically start at £3,000+. The £1,100 service is the cheapest outcome available.
The seals, tensioner and pulley bolt are exposed to the same heat cycles and oil as the belt. They should be replaced at the same time. Leaving worn components in is the most common reason we see customers come back after a cheaper job elsewhere.
As an independent specialist, our labour rates are significantly lower than a Ford main dealer — but the parts, oil specification, and procedure are identical. You're not paying for dealership overheads. Ford dealers typically quote £1,600–£1,900; we charge £1,100 all-in.
